It’s a testament to how established Sambrook’s Brewery is that I can’t quite believe they’re only five years old – I always think of them as having been quietly producing tasty, traditional beer down in Battersea for years, and it seems incredible that they were only founded in 2008.
Having been to last year’s birthday event, I know that the folks at Sambrook’s know how to organise a piss-up party in a brewery. But for their fifth year celebrations they’re moving to a larger venue – more room for more people, more beer and more fun.
The beer list is more extensive than previous years, with beers I know and love from the London Brewing Company and Tap East, and beers I’ve been wanting to try for a long time from Gadds’ and Five Points – not to mention excellent food and music to enjoy.
Morden Hall Park is located at the end of the Northern Line (a lot easier for us Northerners to get to than the brewery) and it rather appropriately has the River Wandle meandering through it. All in all, it should be a great day.

Many thanks to Sambrook’s for providing these tickets, and for making some mighty tasty beers!
My favourite beer to enjoy by the river is Dark Star Hophead.
Would have to be a nice pale ale or saison. Let’s say one of Partizan’s saisons.
