Pete Drinks (& Kavey Helps): Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer

Beer Review

PeteDrinks-8983

Name: Crabbie’s Alcoholic Ginger Beer

ABV: 4.0

Bottled/ Draft: Bottled

Colour: Golden

Head: Reasonable head, but short lived.

Mouthfeel: Somewhere between a lager and Tizer; feels like a grown up soft drink in your mouth!

Taste: Fiery ginger, very sweet.

Comment: Not a beer in any conventional sense, this is a wonderful drink for anyone who loves ginger. More like a ginger wine than a traditional ginger beer, the fiery ginger is almost overwhelming (but in a really good way), with that sticky sweet deliciousness. Yes, it’s fizzy, but it leaves your mouth tingling and your tongue wonderfully warmed.

If you’re looking for a ginger-flavoured beer then look for something like Badger’s Blandford Fly – if, however, you’re looking for something with a fantastic gingery punch, but don’t want a pint of ginger wine, this is the one for you!
